Apeejay Surrendra arm gets 2 dry bulk carriers

SURRENDRA Overseas Ltd, the shipping arm of the Apeejay Surrendra Group, has acquired two dry bulk carriers — a 1990 built 71,037-dwt Panamax vessel and a 2002 built 52,454-dwt Ultra Handymax vessel, according a press release issued by the company.

With these acquisitions, the company's tonnage jumps by 51 per cent to about 0.363 million dwt and the average age of the fleet drops to less than 16 years. The ships are to join the company's fleet by end October, the release said.
