SIMA aligns AGM with textile top brass meeting

THE Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) has synchronised its annual general meeting (September 14) with a two-day meet of chief executive officers/managing directors of textile mills to be held on September13 and 14.

Mr S.V. Arumugham, Managing Director of Shiva Texyarn Ltd, is expected to take over the reigns of SIMA from Mr Vijay Venkataswamy.

Dr K.V. Srinivasan, the present SIMA Vice-Chairman, would move on to become the Deputy Chairman. The CEOs/MDs meet is designed as a theme conference on `Redefining textile business' in which industrialists are scheduled to speak on contemporary issues and emerging trends. The theme conference to be inaugurated by the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry's (CITI) Chairman, Mr V.K. Ladia, will have extile industrialists such as Mr T. Kannan, Managing Director of Thiagarajar Mills; Mr B.K. Patodia, Managing Director of GTN Textiles, and Mr Manikam Ramaswami, Chairman and Managing Director of Loyal Textile Mills Ltd, chairing individual sessions.
