Airlines Air Sahara offers e-ticketing through travel agents Our Bureau
New Delhi , Sept. 12 AIR Sahara has tied up with both the major computer reservation systems (CRS) Amadeus and Galileo to offer e-ticketing . "We are the first domestic airline to offer travel agents the facility of issuing e-tickets. This will prove more beneficial to the passenger than going on to the Internet to make booking," the airline's Executive Vice-President, Mr Alok Sharma, said. The airline has started the pilot run of the project with more than 40 travel agents around the country. The launch of the project will help travel agents offer their customers more telephone-based services, including flexibility and convenience like being able to change their tickets without actually going to the airline. The benefits to the passengers include no fear of ticket getting lost as they do not have to carry a ticket, but merely an `itinerary receipt' that has details of the entire itinerary, fare, taxes, and form of payment. The passenger has to produce their photo identification at the airport and the boarding card will be issued at the time of check in, airline officials said.
