Situated on a 2.17-acre plot on Race Course Road, the existing structure of Hotel Surya International will be pulled down to make way for the new business hotel.

The Taj Business Hotel will have 200 rooms and will be unveiled by October 2007, according to the release. Located about 12 km from the airport and three km from Coimbatore, the new hotel will have three food and beverage outlets, 15,000 sq. ft. of banqueting and meeting facilities and a fitness centre.

The release quoted Mr Raymond Bickson, Managing Director, The Indian Hotels Company Ltd, as saying that Coimbatore offered immense potential for a business hotel.
