Mergers & Acquisitions F5 Networks buys Swan Labs Our Bureau
Bangalore , Sept. 15 THE New York-based F5 Networks plans to tap the Indian market for secure socket layer Virtual Private Network (SSL VPN), by acquiring Swan Labs. The company had recently bought the California-based Swan Labs. Swan Labs already has a sales office in Bangalore. Secure socket layer is a protocol that allows users to establish a secure connection to servers. Most branch offices use a VPN to connect to their head office. "Now, companies in India will shift from using costly leased lines to the much more economic SSL VPNs," said Mr Shailendra Sahasrabudhe, General Manager-India, F5 Networks. F5 Networks is an application traffic management company that entered India in July. Application traffic management involves having a dedicated platform that assists in deploying and trafficking applications so that users do not experience any downtime.
