New Delhi , Sept. 15

SHAH Rukh Khan is a flirtatious snake charmer in Pepsi's latest commercial to be launched on television tomorrow. But first, in a unique move, the commercial appeared on the Internet on Yahoo.com.

Mr Vipul Prakash, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Pepsi Foods Ltd, said, "Pepsi has always aimed at initiatives that capture the pulse of the youth. This initiative unites two media for the first time and involves customers in it."

In an online contest featuring the animated version of the first of the three-part `webisode', participants can win Shah Rukh Khan's costume used in the commercial.

Ms Pearl Uppal, Sales Director of Yahoo! India, said, "Internet is not only about targeting the relevant audience with minimal spill-over but is also about unleashing the power of interactive advertising. We are confident that the youth will love this pre-television airing and will find the webisodes highly engaging."

Earlier in the year Pepsi had promoted its Pepsizone on the portal. The campaign results led to Pepsi and Yahoo! India jointly commissioning an online research study.
