Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Sept. 15

THE Delhi-based Alankar Group opened its weight loss-cum-fitness centre here on Thursday. It plans to open more centres during the year.

Opening the fitness centre, Bollywood starlet Dia Mirza said "A strenuous lifestyle should not mean skipping meals and eating junk food."The former Miss Asia Pacific 2000 advised teenage girls not to starve but to take expert assistance to lose weight and hit upon the right diet. "Beauty is no longer something which only women care about, men are becoming conscious of the way they look," she added.

The Medical Director of Vibes, Dr Harish Grover, said "for obese persons who find weight loss exhausting, this is an ideal destination. Apart from offering a friendly environment, it offers the latest equipment to lose weight."

Obesity causes heart ailments, high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, and also leads to low self-esteem.

The weight loss programme is designed and administered for every client by health and nutrition experts. It will help not only in knocking off fat but also in weight maintenance, according to Dr Grover.
