Softbridge grooms IT engineers in Japanese

Our Bureau

Pune , Sept. 16

AN increasing number of IT engineers from across the globe are making a beeline to Japan. It is also vice-versa as many of the Japanese engineers are making India as home, said Ms Yuki Fukushima, who is the Training Manager at the Pune-based Softbridge Solutions.

This bi-directional training is aimed at grooming Indian engineers in Japanese language and culture, as also training Japanese companies in English, cross culture and IT.

Along with Softbridge Solutions other players include TCS, Infosys, Vertex Software, Jopasana and son on which have already made their presence in the Japanese market.

According to Nasscom reports, there is shortage of skilled workforce or engineers in Japan and over the next five years, it predicts a requirement of about one lakh engineers.

Mr Prashant Devatraj, Founder-Director of the company, says India's IT exports to Japan is merely three per cent compared to over 60 per cent to the US. And the common complaint was that "Japanese language and culture is a big barrier to enter the second largest IT market in the world," which is where Softbridge came into play and decided to bridge the gap.
