Thakur Institute (Mumbai) to start international B-school

, THE Mumbai-based Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research (TIMSR) is planning to start an international business school in the city to offer courses of global standards. Dr Ajay Chauhan, director of the institute, said the cardinal objective was to enable students to take up global careers.

"We are in talks with some reputed institutes in Australia and in Scandinavian countries to provide us the course content," he said, adding that the new school will start taking students from 2006.

He claimed that this was the first of its kind in India.

The institute established in 2002 by the Thakur Educational Group, at present offers a number of courses, including Master of Management Studies, Master of Information Management, Master of Marketing Management and Post Graduate Diplomas in Business Administration and Shipping Management.
