New Delhi , Sept 16

THE Ministry of Textiles has appointed Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Ltd (IL&FS) as project management consultant to assist the Ministry in implementing the newly-launched schemes for Integrated Textile Parks.

This scheme, which aims to create at least 25 textile parks covering all the sectors of the textile industry, is expected to facilitate new investment to the tune of Rs 7,500 crore and additional production of textiles worth Rs 20,000 crore per year.

The scheme envisages a public-private partnership based model for implementation. Under this Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) promoted by the user industry entrepreneurs would play the lead role.
