Supplyco's Onam fairs successful

Our Bureau

KOCHI: Supplyco has registered a record sale of Rs 5.22 crore through various Onam trade fairs organised across the State. The total turnover recorded a 12 per cent increase compared to previous year. During 2004, Supply had registered a turnover of Rs 4.65 crore from Onam fairs.

A press release issued here said that there was heavy rush in Onam stalls despite the rains that lashed the State during the festival season. Supplyco was able to control the price rise in spite of the hike in fuel prices in the country. Most of the grocery items had sold at a discount rate of 30 per cent compared to market prices. It had also procured and sold 900 tonnes of banana, an integral component of Onam sadhya and 400 tonnes of vegetables.
