Sensex highs

The Finance Minister has reiterated his view against any worry on the current trends in the stock market because the P/E ratios are in the `comfort zone' — around 16.5 (Business Line September 18).

The Finance Minister should look at the ratios of those shares that have high weights in transactions and make or break the markets. The assertion that there is no scam in the making needs to be backed by an in-depth enquiry.
