Railways S-E Rly services disrupted Our Bureau
Kolkata , Sept 21 TORRENTIAL rain in Andhra Pradesh and Orissa has disrupted South-Eastern Railway's train services on the East Coast section. Breaches have been caused on railway tracks in South Central between Vijayawada and Kazipet, and Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam. According to an official release, about seven South-bound trains have been cancelled/controlled today and tomorrow.The cancelled Up trains for today are Howrah-Hyderabad East Coast Express, Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Express, Howrah-Chennai Mail, Howrah-Yashwantpur Express, Howrah-Nagercoil Gurudev Express, Alleppey Link Express from Tata, and Dhanbad-Allepey Express from Dhanbad. The Up Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknama Express, which left Howrah this morning, has been short-terminated at Balasore, and it will run back to Howrah as Special Train from Balasore. The Up Howrah-Tiruchi Express leaving on Thursday has been cancelled. Similarly, the corresponding Down trains, such as Chennai Mail (leaving on Tuesday), Coromandel Express, scheduled to leave today from Chennai Central, Falaknama Express, leaving on September 20 and the Trichy-Howrah Express, scheduled to leave Chennai-Egmore on September 20, arriving Howrah on September 22 have been cancelled. According to SER, all trains coming from Southern as well as South Central Railways via Visakhapatnam today and tomorrow will be controlled at different stations en route, and will reach Howrah late. The South-bound trains leaving Howrah on September 22 may also start late from the originating station.
