THE Andhra Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (APSTDC) has introduced four new tour packages in Visakhapatnam from Thursday.

The tours include two half-a-day ones meant for those who could spare only a few hours, according to the divisional manager, Mr Jeevan Prasad.

In the leisure tour — from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. — the tourist would be able to enjoy a boat-ride in the seas off the fishing harbour and visit MGM Park, Zoo Park, Kailasagiri and the CMR Shopping Mall. The tariff, including lunch and entry tickets, was Rs 320 (Rs 255 for a child). The CMR Mall would give a five per cent discount to tourists on purchase of goods, he said.

In the heritage tour — from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — tourists would be taken to Simhachalam, Thotlakonda, Bhimili, Hermit Dibbalu, Rushikonda Beach, Visakha Museum, Submarine Museum and Lepakshi Emporium. The tariff, including lunch and entry tickets, was fixed at Rs 235 (Rs 190 for child). A 10 per cent discount would be given by the Lepakshi Emporium for tourists, he said.

In the half-day tours, the first one (from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.) would cover Simhachalam, a boat-ride in the sea off the fishing harbour, Mastyadarshini, Kali temple and Visakha Museum. The tariff would be Rs 180 (Rs 145 for a child).

The second half-day tour would commence at 2 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. The tourists would be taken to Zoo Park, Rushikonda Beach, Kailasagiri, Submarine Museum, MGM Park and RK Beach. The attractions in this tour were a ride on the toy train and going to the Kailasagiri by the ropeway. The tariff was fixed at Rs 190 (Rs 150 for a child).

Reservations for the tours could be made at the Central Reservation Office at the RTC Complex (2746446), and Information and Reservation Offices at NAD Junction (2767818/19) and Old Gajuwaka Junction (2767242/43), he added.
