Japanese grant for two Indian NGOs

New Delhi , Sept. 23

THE Embassy of Japan in India, under its scheme `Grant Assistance for Grassroots Project,' on Thursday has decided to extend grant assistance of $168,339.

The grant would be given to two non-governmental organisations to support education and health projects undertaken by them.

The Meerut Children Welfare Trust will get $84,423 for education, clinical and counselling services to around 250 students.

The Shri Parmatma Chand Bhandari Charitable Trust would get the rest to provide medical services and specialised ophthalmic services to 12,000 people annually in the Pipar area of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district.
