Apollo to expand clinic network

Hyderabad , Sept. 23

THE Apollo Healthcare and Lifestyle Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of the Apollo Group of Hospitals, will set up 10 franchise clinics overseas and an equal number of outlets in Andhra Pradesh.

The overseas clinics would come up in West Asia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the next 12 months.

This is part of its plan to open 250 clinics, including 30-40 abroad, in the next five years.

"The contribution from the network of clinics would increase from the present seven per cent to 10 per cent in the next three years," Ms Sangitha Reddy, Executive Director (Operations) of the group, said.

The company runs a clinic at Doha.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, she said the company would like to initially set up 10 franchise clinics in Andhra Pradesh.

These would come up at cities such as Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry and Kakinada.

It would cost Rs 1.25 crore to Rs 1.75 crore to set up an Apollo clinic. This included standardised equipment and infrastructure.

The specially designed clinics sported a pleasant ambience. They would attend to day-to-day healthcare problems.

The group had roped in Indian Institute of Management (IIM-Bangalore) and National Institute of Sales, a leading sales training organisation, to train the franchisees and the staff of the clinic.

While Mr Alfaz Miller, a leading architect, designed the architecture, interiors and signage, Mr Ravi Bajaj designed the staff uniforms.
