Paramount's commercial launch on Sept 30 or Oct 1

G. Gurumurthy

Coimbatore , Sept. 24

THE formal commercial start of Paramount Airways is likely to be on September 30 or October 1.

"The decision to run the maiden flight a week from now is purely on account of internal reasons, with a view to timing the commencement of the new service on an auspicious day," said Mr Thiagarajan, Managing Director of Paramount Airways.

Another reason is to avoid the proposed strike by the employees of the Airport Authority of India on September 29.

Originally, Paramount was planning to start the commercial service from September 25, though the airline has been informally maintaining its commercial launch schedule as `in the week starting September 26'.

Talking to Business Line, Mr Thiagarajan said all the required clearances from the civil aviation authorities are in place for the airline to run its services.
