ZENITH Finesse (India) will soon launch colour televisions and air-conditioners in the Indian market under the Finesse brand.

While Finesse colour televisions would be launched a few months down the line, air-conditioners under the same brand would hit the market early next year, according to Mr Pritimoy Chakraborty, Director of the company.

Addressing newspersons at a function held here to mark Zenith's foray into the home theatre segment, Mr Chakraborty said that, since January this year, the company had launched 14 products in the Indian market, comprising music systems, microwaves, hair dryers, telephones, etc. These products are manufactured under contract in China. They are at present available through retail channels in States in eastern India and the North-East, as well as Kerala. A national rollout would follow in the months ahead.

The company has launched a home theatre system. Mr Chakraborty said all products launched by the company were manufactured under contract with strict adherence to quality standards.

While there was no compromise on quality, and prices, he said, had been pegged at levels which would be affordable to the average middle-class consumer.

The home theatre system was launched herebyfilm actor Mithun Chakraborty and actress Rupa Ganguly.

According to him, the company was open to the idea of setting up a manufacturing facility in India "when we build up a critical mass in terms of volume sales".

A decision in this regard would be taken at a later stage. The company has projected a sales turnover of around Rs 20 crore in the current fiscal.
