Cargo trade's concern

Our Bureau

CHENNAI: The proposed strike by the employees of Airports Authority of India (AAI) on September 29 has created some amount of confusion among the trade. With just two days to go, there are still no clear indications on how the airports will function.

The Chennai Airport Director, Mr H.S. Bains, told Business Line that the trade has been informed that there is a contingency plan in place in case of a strike. However, some of the shippers are still wondering whether their cargo would be accepted for shipment on Thursday, while some others are considering whether they should advance dispatch of cargo.
