HYDERABAD: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has launched its Web site for Hyderabad (http://pibhyd.ap.nic.in). Ms Deepak Sandhu, Principal Information Officer (PIO), New Delhi formally launched it at a function here.

Hyderabad is the fifth PIB office to have its Web site. Chennai, Kolkata, Aizwal and Thiruvananthapuram being the others. The main PIB site receives around 2.5 lakh hits everyday, she said.

The newly-appointed Deputy PIO at Hyderabad, Dr C.G.K. Murthy said the Web site would cater to the needs of the Hyderabad press as well as the needs of the district media.
