L&T Oman arm bags Rs 165-cr order

MUMBAI: Larsen & Toubro's Oman-based associate company has won a Rs 165-crore order in that country.

Larsen & Toubro Electromech LLC (Oman) (LTEM) will revamp and upgrade transmission lines and substations for Petroleum Development Oman LLC's oils fields in central Oman.

The work, which consists of construction of 293 km of 132 KV overhead transmission lines connecting various substations and also construction of new lines, is expected to be completed by February 2007, said a news release from L&T.

A majority stake in LTEM was acquired by L&T from Oman-based Zubair Corporation as part of its efforts to accelerate business in West Asia. Currently, L&T has a 65 per cent stake in LTEM.
