New drug from Panacea

NEW DELHI: Panacea Biotec has introduced Odipep, an innovative drug delivery system-based therapy for management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), caused by backflow of acid from the stomach into the swallowing tube or oesophagus, and non ulcer dyspepsia (NUD), which causes abdominal pain.

Odipep, a prescription drug, inhibits gastric acid secretion, relieves nausea and vomiting.

In a statement, Mr Rajesh Jain, Joint Managing Director, said: "Odipep ensures immediate and sustained relief from GERD and has a potential to revolutionise the Rs 42.33-crore pantaprazole and domperidone fixed dose combination market, which is growing at 112 per cent."
