HYDERABAD: As a tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri during his centenary celebrations, the State Government is contemplating an irrigation project or an airport project to be named after him.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, announced this while speaking at the centenary celebrations here on Wednesday, according to an official release.

Dr Reddy recalled that Shastriji had a special liking for Hyderabad and the people of Andhra Pradesh. As a humble repayment of his love for the State, a stadium (Lal Bahadur Sadium) and a Municipality (LB Nagar) had been named after him.
