Beeyu Overseas

This is with reference to "Beeyu Overseas facing takeover threat?" (Business Line, September 10). We would like to inform you that:

a) Mr S. K. Khetan is not a shareholder in our company as on date.

b) He has not attended our AGM which was held on September 19, 2005.

c) Your report said that he and his associates will object to the delisting of our shares from the Calcutta Stock Exchange, The resolution for the delisting of our shares from three stock exchanges was carried.

R. Chattopadhyay

Company Secretary

Beeyu Overseas Ltd

Kolkata

Our correspondent clarifies:

Our information is that on September 9, 2005, Mr S. K. Khetan, directly and indirectly, controlled three per cent of the shareholding of Beeyu Overseas Limited.

Our story had erroneously implied that Mr Khetan "held" these shares in his own name. The error is regretted.
