`Save Noyyal' river yatra today

COIMBATORE: A `Save Noyyal' walkathon for about 30 km from Kooduthurai to Perks Higher Secondary School, Singanallur, in Coimbatore city, is being held on Sunday to create awareness about the need to preserve this rich water resource that has been subjected to much abuse for the past few decades.

Siruthuli, a voluntary organisation that has been on the forefront of the efforts for the restoration of water sources in Coimbatore region, expects over one lakh participants to join the `River Noyyal Yatra' culminating in a public meeting in the city.
