More steel products go by road

The evacuation of finished products out of steel plants by road is set to increase not only because of the stricter rules being enforced by the Railways in regard to detention of rakes and the consequent demurrage but also because of the insistence on full rake loads, which the steel plants find it difficult to observe in view of the product mix with the volumes of certain products warranting only piecemeal loading.
