Corporation Bank initiative in Mangalore

MANGALORE: Corporation Bank has donated Rs 2 lakh to Chinmaya Educational Institution in Mangalore for setting up the information technology (IT) centre in the college.

A bank release said here on Saturday that Mr K.L. Gopalakrishna, Executive Director of the bank, formally handed over the donation to Mr B. Ganapathi Pai, Vice-President of the management committee of the institution, in Mangalore recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gopalakrishna said that Corporation Bank has charted various developmental activities during the centenary year. In its efforts to contribute for societal causes, the bank has identified education as a thrust area.

Accordingly, it has announced a scheme of providing scholarship to 100 meritorious students in 25 villages during the year, he added.
