Permanent numbers for Kerala employees

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Employees of the Government Secretariat here will mandatorily have a Permanent Employee Number (PEN) from March next year.

This is in line with the implementation of the Service and Payroll Administrative Repository for Kerala (SPARK) under the Modernising Government Programme (MGP). Those retiring in December next have been excluded from the purposes of the scheme. But data pertaining to them will progressively be incorporated into the system.

PEN will make available details relating to service, salary, increment and salary reductions at the click of a button. Procedures at the State treasury and the Accountant General's Office will get simplified and transparent in the bargain, a spokesman said here.
