HYDERABAD: The State Government and organisers of GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) signed a memorandum of understanding to conduct the next edition of Gitex India here in January next.

The fifth consecutive expo of IT products and services would be held from January 11 to 13 at the HITEX exhibition facility at Madhapur.

Mr Abdulla Qassem, General Manager of Dubai World Trade Centre that organises GITEX, said there was a huge opportunity for IT product and services companies in India. "Indian IT market is worth $25 billion and growing at 21 per cent annually," he said.

Last year, the GITEX Hyderabad registered a growth of 26 per cent in trade visitors (7,938). About 17,250 people visited the expo, Ms K. Ratna Prabha, Secretary (Information Technology and Communications Department), said here in a press release on Sunday.

Ms Ratna Prabha was in Dubai last week to conclude the agreement.
