BLAUPUNKT, a German car entertainment solutions provider and part of Bosch Group, on Tuesday set up its sixth exclusive distributorship store in the country in Gurgaon, Haryana.

The company's brand shop is being set up as an extension of the services of the distributors of the company. Apart from being a one-stop shop for the end customers, the brand shops will also serve the dealers to update themselves on products and systems offerings from Blaupunkt and serve as after sales servicing points.

Blaupunkt aims to set up 30 such shops by the end of the year and generate 20 per cent of its business from these outlets.

Mr Ajay Sahney, Deputy General Manager, Car Multimedia, Blaupunkt, said at the launch of the store, "Blaupunkt is the sole brand present in the organised sector."

The organised car audio market in the country has grown from 10 per cent in 1997 to 40 per cent in 2005. In value terms, it stands at Rs 600 crore.

Mr Sahney said that the company had a turnover of Rs 35 crore in the last fiscal and targets a turnover of Rs 50 crore for the current fiscal.

Blaupunkt's range of products includes head units, cassette, CD and MP3 players, speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, CD changers and in-car video systems.
