HCL Tech US head joins Covansys

MR Raj Sirohi, till recently the head of HCL Technologies America Inc, has joined the US-based Covansys Corporation as Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Worldwide, according to information available on Covansys' Web site.

Mr Sirohi was responsible for building $250-million of revenue for HCL Technologies in the US. Prior to joining the company's US operations, he initiated the concept of verticals at HCL, by creating focused industry groups in its Indian operations.

Mr Sirohi's experience is attuned to Covansys' new business development process as the company is working out to improve sales execution, revenue growth and profit margins, Mr Raj Vattikuti, President and CEO of Covansys, was quoted in a press release available on the Web site.

"We are well positioned to leverage our strengths and delivery capabilities and are confident that Mr Sirohi will help drive our sales team toward securing larger, more profitable accounts,'' Mr Vattikutti said in the release.

"Covansys' delivery model and capabilities provide superior value to the client and I am enthusiastic about leveraging these fundamental ingredients to secure new clients and fuel significant sales growth,'' Mr Sirohi said in the release.

Headquartered in Michigan, the Nasdaq-listed Covansys is a consulting and technology services company, and globally employs around 6,500 consultants, including a large number in India.
