Blast in GOCL plant: 1 killed

Hyderabad , Oct. 4

A MINOR accident in the Hyderabad factory of Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd (GOCL), near Kukatpally on Tuesday, killed one worker and injured three.

The blast happened at the crystallisation plant in the morning.

According to the company, the accident occurred during the maintenance operations in one of the plants in which a pump was being repaired. A worker was severely injured and two other sustained minor injuries. A supervisor in the vicinity was also affected.

All the persons were given first aid and rushed to the hospital for medical attention. One of the workers succumbed to his injuries. The others are out of danger, the company said in a release.

GOCL also said all the other plants inside the Hyderabad factory are functioning normally.
