Aurigene ties up with Danish co

AURIGENE Discovery Technologies Ltd, a wholly owned independent subsidiary of Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd, has announced an agreement with the Danish biopharmaceutical major Rheoscience A/S wherein it would provide high-end discovery services.

Aurigene, based out of Bangalore, is currently engaged in collaborative discovery partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and biotech companies.

In a press release here, Aurigene said the agreement encompasses a wide range of activities from assay development, medicinal chemistry, safety, pharmacological specificity and in vivo pharmacology on Rheoscience's targets. The agreement of providing discovery services is for three years.

Commenting on the development, the Aurigene Chief Operating Officer, Mr C.S.N. Murthy, said, "Aurigene's integrated discovery capabilities, from hit-lead generation to pre-clinical optimisation, provide an ideal platform for providing all the capabilities under one roof, for these programmes."

The Rheoscience Chief Executive Officer, Dr P.J. Larsen, said: "We have chosen Aurigene for a significant boost of our early target discovery programmes".
