According to a press release issued by the company, the order was awarded to Welspun by PGN of Indonesia. Welspun had earlier got another order from Amerada-Hess, Indonesia, for the supply of 42 km of sour service pipes.

PGN has awarded a total contract of $132.4 million to three companies. The major share of $112 million (about Rs 500 crore) has reportedly been given to Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren while the balance has been distributed between local State-owned companies.

Commenting on the order, Mr B.K. Goenka, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Welspun group, said: "To be associated with a renowned company like PGN Indonesia is a signal of honour for Welspun."
