A club for IT professionals

Hyderabad , Oct. 5

YUPES or Young Urban Professionals' Entertainment Services is an interesting concept to provide one-stop entertainment and event-management services focussing exclusively on the IT industry in and around Hyderabad.

The Head of YUPES and Editor of Telugu Times, published in the US, Mr Subba Row V. Chennuri, told Business Line that the club has been conceptualised keeping in mind the exclusive requirements of IT professionals and their needs.

"Even if someone else were to ask us to help out, we will not do so, since the focus is on IT only."

This was formed based on an informal survey which indicated that the industry needs a forum for formal and informal discussions and meetings and a club for personal get-together parties. YUPES has emerged out of this necessity.

Started by Mr Chennuri and two others, YUPES Club, an IT Schmooze point for IT professionals to interact, will act as an informal forum for IT professionals and function as a virtual club.

Its mandate is to manage a club where they can meet and interact.

During its first such meeting, sponsored by Institute of Electronic Governance, Jawahar Knowledge centre, Andhra Bank, Maa TV, Software Technology Parks of India, Mr Chennuri said that YUPES would host Nostalgia, a two-day event which will cover games such as kabaddi, gilli danda, kite-flying, all aimed at providing relief from monotony of work.

YUPES objective is to function as a one-stop shop for all fun and entertainment for IT professionals, he said.
