Water level declines in Kerala reservoirs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the southwest monsoon signing off, water levels at the three major reservoirs in the State - Kallada, Idukki and Idamalayar — have recorded a decline week-on-week.

According to figures released by the Central Water Commission, the level declined from 377.95 ft to 375.59 ft at Kallada, 2398.44 ft to 2396.23 ft at Idukki and 554.53 ft to 552.40 at Idamalayar.

However, compared with the levels recorded a year ago, the levels had shown an increase respectively of 6.13 ft, 29.70 ft and 21.43 ft at the three reservoirs.
