New Delhi , Oct. 6

THE Green group, a laminates and plywood manufacturer, has decided to foray into the international market with the launch of its subsidiary, GIL Intercontinental PTE Ltd. (Greenply Industries Ltd is the flagship company of the group.)

The move to launch the international arm by the group is to exploit market opportunities in Singapore, said a company release. GIL Intercontinental will launch Greenlam, a brand of laminates, in Singapore.

According to the company, Singapore is expected to witness 12-15 per cent growth in the laminates sector, with more than 50 per cent of the architectural work for Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Hong Kong and other Asian countries being sourced from there.

Mr Saurabh Mittal, Joint Managing Director, Greenply Industries, said, "With this venture, the company will be able to get a strong foothold in the global markets."
