RAYMOND LTD has launched a new collection of worsted suiting fabric by the name `Expressions'. The premium fabric is made with exotic fibres such as cashmere, angora, mohair, bamboo and casein and has been developed in-house by the textile major.

At a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Gautam Singhania, Managing Director, Raymond Ltd, said, "Our expertise in innovation does not begin with Expressions alone, Raymond has always been a pioneer and innovator in the Indian textile industry and has been developing innovative fabrics using high-end technology right since its inception.''

In the future Mr Singhania did not rule out the possibility of launching fabrics for women. "At the right time we may look into the women's segment but right now I would not like to comment on it,'' he said.Meanwhile, in the ready-to-wear segment, the company claims that its fastest growing brand is ColorPlus.

"ColorPlus is the fastest growing brand in the company's portfolio and is going at a rate of 25 per cent,'' said Mr P.K. Bhandari, Group President and Whole-time Director, Raymond.

Besides, it is also planning to increase the number of company- owned stores.

"Over the next 2-3 years we intend having 70 company-owned stores mainly at the malls and hi-streets,'' said Mr S.K. Gupta, President (Corporate).

At present, Raymonds has 330 retail shops out of which only 25 are company-owned.
