I-T tribunal bench at Madurai sought

Our Correspondent

Madurai , Oct. 7

THE Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has emphasised the need for an Income-Tax Tribunal Bench here.

This has become necessary in view of the fact that a Bench of the Madras High Court has already been set up here to cater to the needs of litigants in the southern districts, said the Chamber President, Mr S. Rethinavelu, while speaking at its 10th Executive Committee Meeting held here.

He also urged the I-Tax Chief Commissioner to make recommendations to the Government to prevent needless reopening of closed assessments for further scrutiny.
