G4S commences Indian operations

G4S, the new company formed by the merger of UK security services providers, Group 4 Falck, and Securicor, has announced the beginning of its operations in India.

Besides making India a base for providing skilled management workforce for its global operations, the company is also looking at expanding domestic services for cash management and banking security.

The company, which is targeting a turnover of Rs 550 crore this fiscal for its Indian operations, has a presence in 127 cities across the country with 82,000 employees.

Globally, G4S is valued at $4 billion and has over 360,000 full and part-time employees in over 100 countries.
