An unwelcome move

Energy security is of utmost importance for any nation particularly so for rapidly growing India. Energy is as essential for mankind as food, clothing and shelter. There cannot be national security without energy security for any nation.

India's dream of becoming a developed nation by 2020 would be shattered without energy security. Therefore India's move to vote against Iran at the recent IAEA forum may seriously jeopardise inter- national energy supplies to India. In all probability, this decision could worsen the energy crisis.
