Exposition on disasters at Kochi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Scientific Awareness Forum (SAFE), a Kochi-based NGO, is holding a five-day exhibition and interactive sessions on `Natural and manmade disasters and their judicious management' in Kochi from November 5.

Titled Vignyan Utsav-2005 and co-sponsored by the Corporation of Kochi and Rotary Club of Cochin North, the sessions will feature eminent scientists and experts from scientific and service organisations discuss threadbare the issues involved in managing disasters and creating an awareness for the general public on how to cope with them.

According to Dr C.K. Rajan, President, SAFE, competitions on the theme have been organised for school and college students. Vignyan Utsav will also have quiz, cultural, debating and painting competitions on the first four days. Prizes have been designated for individual and institutional achievements.
