HYDERABAD: The State Government has announced a public-private partnership with Naandi Foundation as part of its efforts to enhance learning outcomes of children enrolled in Government schools.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Department of School Education and Naandi here on Monday to formalise a partnership that would ensure children in Government schools have access to quality education and empower communities to demand for it.

According to an official release, the programme, involving a cost of Rs 157.52 lakh per year, would be implemented in 275 schools in the old city area of Hyderabad, 150 schools in the Paderu region of Visakhapatnam and 30 schools in Mahabubnagar district.

Activities in the project include reading-writing camps for children during summer holidays, training for teachers, improving learning environments in schools, conducting fairs and competitions, study tours and exposure visits, the release said.
