Infrastructure W. Australia to collaborate with TN for LNG terminal Our Bureau

Chennai , Oct. 10 TAMIL Nadu and Western Australia can collaborate to develop the LNG terminal proposed at Ennore Port in Tamil Nadu, according to the Chief Minister, Ms Jayalalithaa. According to an official press release, Ms Jayalalithaa told a delegation from Western Australia led by its Premier Dr Geoff Gallop, which met her on Monday, that Western Australia could collaborate with Tamil Nadu to set up the LNG terminal and mine underground lignite to produce gas. The terminal is envisaged to supply gas for electricity generation and industrial use. Management of water resources is another possible area for collaboration. These are all areas in which Western Australia has expertise, it has a rich mineral resource and a developed mining industry. Dr Gallop said that there was potential for mutual cooperation in agriculture, education, tourism, mining and minerals, information technology, biotechnology and water resources management, according to the release.
