Straight to the heart

In the light of the Finance Minister's remark that our audit system and corporate governance are poor, the article `Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance' (Business Line, October 13) speaks for itself.

It is good that the Finance Minister's remark went to the heart of the audit community. It should now take measures to overcome drawbacks, eliminate malpractices and be able to deliver sound advice on improving governance.
