Rubber Rubber prices fall on profit booking Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Oct. 14 THE domestic spot rubber market was in a corrective phase on Friday. Profit booking exerted pressure on the prices and all major grades, including latex, lost on selling by dealers and growers. Buyers stayed away expecting the selling spree to continue till weekend. Sheet rubber RSS 4 declined to Rs 68 from Rs 68.75 and Rs 68.25 a kg at Kottayam and Kochi respectively. The NMCE rubber futures lost further. The November contract was quoted at Rs 65.90 (Rs 66.89), December at Rs 64.02 (Rs 64.86) and the January contract at Rs 64.35 (Rs 65.15) per kg for RSS 4. In MCX, the November contract for RSS 4 was traded at Rs 66.20 against Rs 66.66 a kg on Thursday RSS 3 closed flat at Rs 77.66 a kg at Bangkok. The spot rubber prices (per kg) were: RSS-4: Rs 68 (Rs 68.75); RSS-5: Rs 65 (Rs 66.50); ungraded: Rs 63 (Rs 64.50); ISNR 20: Rs 64 (Rs 66); and latex 60 per cent: Rs 44.50 (Rs 45).
