Mumbai , Oct. 14

NEC Computers Asia Pacific (NECCAP), a subsidiary of NEC Corporation, has appointed ENKAY Technologies (India) Private Ltd as its commercial business reseller for its personal computers.

NECCAP, an ISO 9001:2000 certified company, is focussing more on commercial customers initially, said Mr Wu Tengguo, MD, South and South-East Asia Sales of the company.

"ENKAY's expertise can offer our customers the best-in-class pre- and post-sales support infrastructure. With the support of ENKAY and NEC's leading edge, high quality and reliable products, we are confident NEC will be a preferred brand in the Indian PC market," Mr Tegguo said.

"We want to be one of the top five brands by 2008. We want to grab six per cent of the note-book market and three per cent of the desktop market by 2006-07," he said.

ENKAY will add PC sales and service professionals to its already established nationwide network of corporate sales teams to promote NEC personal computers, said a NEC press release. ENKAY will be able to offer consistent pricing, products, and services to customers who participate in NECCAP's key accounts programmes.

"By drawing on the best technologies and practices from both NEC and ENKAY, both companies are able to deliver the best industry-standard solutions in the fastest possible time," Mr Wu Tengguo said.

The company has introduced many desktop and notebook models including a water-cooled model.

It wants to price its desktops between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 and notebooks between Rs 50,000 and Rs 90,000.
