Legacy renewal practice — Satyam to leverage Pegasystems tech

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Oct. 14

SATYAM Computer Services Ltd has announced the creation of a new legacy renewal and transformation consulting practice that leverages Pegasystems Inc's technology.

Satyam created the new practice in response to the growing concern over ageing computer applications that no longer deliver flexibility or responsiveness.

The Director of Satyam, Mr G.B. Prabhat, said: "Customers are spending 80 per cent of their annual IT budget maintaining ageing business applications - a problem which is exacerbated by constantly changing business requirements. Our legacy renewal and transformation practice provides a phased approach that helps change the environment."

Commenting on the relationship, Mr Alan Trefler, Chairman of Pegasystems, said: "We look forward to providing legacy transformation services to customers."

Consulting for Inco: Meanwhile, Satyam Computer has announced that it will be providing strategic IT consulting services to the Canada-based mining leader, Inco Ltd.

Satyam will conduct a study on Inco's IT infrastructure and identify key areas in enterprise in need of improvement. The project will provide Inco with recommendations and a roadmap for enhancing the efficiency and development of its enterprise IT, resulting in reduced costs and increased effectiveness.

Q2 results: According to a statement from Satyam Computer, the company will announce both Indian GAAP and US GAAP financial performance for its second quarter ended September 30, 2005, on October 20.
