Airlines `Release land for hangar' Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Chamber of Commerce, Thiruvananthapuram, has urged the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, that the land required for setting up Air India's proposed maintenance hangar be released without further delay. The project promises to provide employment to a minimum of 1,000 people, apart from providing a boost to the State's industrial landscape and favourably impacting its finances. Air India's request for required land has been pending for more than two months now. The project could also revive the prospects of setting up an aerospace industry zone in Thiruvananthapuram, given its proximity to the Kerala Hitech Industries (Keltec) and the aviation centre mulled by the Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation.
