Foods & Food Processing Ruchi Soya Q2 profit up 25.49 pc Our Bureau
Mumbai , Oct. 14 RUCHI Soya Industries Ltd (RSIL) has posted a 25.49 per cent increase in net profit atRs 9.7 crore, for the second quarter ended September 30against Rs 7.73 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Net sales increased by 3.02 per cent to Rs 958.46 crore from Rs 930.39 crore. RSIL's profit before tax (PBT) stood at Rs 14.10 crore (Rs 10.98 crore) up 28.42 per cent.The higher growth in profit was the result of improvement in manufacturing turnover over trading, according to a company release. During the review period, the turnover from manufacturing to trading improved to 72:28 from 42:58 for the corresponding quarter previous year. For the six months ended September 2005, RSIL's net profit grew by 27.22 per cent to Rs 17.48 crore (Rs 13.74 crore), while net sales increased by 9.8 per cent to Rs 1,902.38 crore from Rs 1732.47 crore. Profit before tax (PBT) stood at Rs 25.33 crore, up by 31.65 per cent from Rs 19.24 crore. Shares of RSIL moved down by Rs 2 to Rs 274 on the BSE on Friday.
